Experience

Nepal:
Persistent caste-based discrimination, targeting of Dalits and Madhesi communities. Suppression of political dissenters and civil rights activists. Religious discrimination against converts and non-Hindus. High rates of gender-based violence and limited protection for LGBT individuals. Issues of statelessness among cross-border populations.

Sri Lanka:

Bhutan:
Discrimination against ethnic Nepalis (Lhotshampas) and restrictions on religious and political freedoms. Harassment of Christians and independent religious groups. Gender-based discrimination and social stigma toward LGBT individuals. Nationality and documentation issues affecting displaced populations.
